(CHICAGO – July 8, 2026) As youth and young adults experiencing homelessness face increasing challenges to achieving stability, The Night Ministry continues to create opportunities that connect young people with employment, education, and workforce development resources through its 3rd Annual Youth Employment & Education Fair to be held on Wednesday, July 29, 1735 N. Ashland Ave. from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The fair will bring together employers, educational institutions, workforce development organizations, and young people seeking opportunities to build skills, gain experience, and take steps toward long-term success.

Access to employment and educational opportunities is often a critical factor in helping young adults move from instability to independence. As federal and state housing and public assistance programs continue to place greater emphasis on work-related participation and self-sufficiency requirements, connecting youth experiencing homelessness with career pathways and workforce resources has become more important than ever.

For many young people, securing a job, enrolling in a training program, or pursuing additional education can provide the foundation needed to maintain housing, build financial security, and achieve long-term goals. Currently, 26 percent of The Night Ministry’s youth clients are either enrolled in school, employed, or both, demonstrating the significant opportunities that exist when young people are connected to the right resources and support systems.

“Supporting Chicago’s workforce begins with supporting our young people,” said Anthony Monterroso, Manager of Youth Engagement Services at The Night Ministry. “When we help youth and young adults experiencing homelessness access employment, training, and educational opportunities, we are investing in their long-term success while helping employers develop the talent pipeline they need. This fair creates meaningful connections that lead to greater stability, economic mobility, and stronger communities for all of Chicago.”

For nearly 50 years, The Night Ministry has served Chicago residents experiencing homelessness and poverty through housing support, health care, outreach, and other critical services. The organization’s annual Youth Employment & Education Fair reflects its ongoing commitment to helping young people access opportunities that foster independence, self-sufficiency, and lasting success.

Employers and organizations interested in participating in the fair can contact the Job Fair Task Force at jobfairtaskforce@thenightministry.org or 773-506-7725 for additional information.
