Phoenix Hall

hallLast year, Chicago Public Schools had more than 18,000 students registered as homeless, according to the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless; and North Lawndale College Prep (NLCP) estimates that around 100 of its students struggle with homelessness over the course of the school year.

Phoenix Hall is a residence for up to eight students. They are able to live in the residence until they graduate from high school. Phoenix Hall is made possible through The North Lawndale Student Housing Initiative, a collaborative effort of NLCP, Old St Patrick’s Church and Empower to Succeed, The Night Ministry, Youth Outreach Services and many community-based organizations and residents.

Phoenix Hall is staffed with qualified and experienced adult professionals. Students have their own personalized case plan and depending on their needs, are provided support at the residence or referred to an agency in the community. Volunteers provide tutoring, mentoring, and life skills development groups.

About The North Lawndale Student Housing Initiative

Please help make Phoenix Hall feel like home for students!  We appreciate all donations to our housewarming registry.
